Malformations DAVM

Dural arteriovenous malformations (DAVM) are abnormal shunts between the arterial and the venous side of the vascular tree that are located within the dura, most frequently within the wall of or immediately around the venous sinuses. [Pg.121]

Spinal DAVMs are considered the most common spinal vascular malformations, constituting 80% of all spinal AVMs (Anson and Spetzler 1992 Lee et al. 1998). The majority of these lesions are located in the thoracolumbar region. [Pg.127]
