For most of these adds the cyclopropane is cis-disubstituted but a few examples of trans derivatives have been reported as majusculoic acids isolated from cyanobacteria (see Chapter 8). The species Pseudospongo-sorites suberitoides (Hadromerida), harvested in the Caribbean, contains three new trans-4,5 cyclopropanic acids, which are the first natural examples of such structures. [Pg.637]
