Magnetic susceptibility of polymers

The number of reliable data on the magnetic susceptibility of polymers is relatively small. Table 12.4 shows that on the whole there is a good agreement with the additively calculated values.

To produce an effective separation process, Eriez conjectured that it was necessary to adjust the plastic to be separated. Using the time-tested method of magnetic separation to reclaim products, we invented a new process that involves manipulating the magnetic susceptibility of polymers through the use of additives that do not materially change the resin performance.
