Neodymium lanthanide metals lutetium

Lanthanum (La) and lanthanide metals neodymium (Nd), samarium (Sm) and lutetium (Lu) as well as yttrium (Y) with pentamethylcyclopentadienyl (// -MesCs = Cp ) and a silicon-bridged bis(tetramethylcyclopentadienyl) (Me4C5-SiMe2-C5Me4 = Me2SiCp"2) ligand have been proved to be excellent and unique hydrosilylation catalysts which exhibit distinctive features in comparison with traditional Group VEEI late-transition metal catalysts" "". ... [Pg.1697]

The trivalent lanthanide metals include lanthanum(III) through lutetium(III). The lanthanide oxides have a variety of uses from semiconductors, glasses, solid-state lasers and catalysts. There is quite a difference in the extent to which the hydrolysis reactions of the lanthanide metals have been studied. Typically, the light lanthanides have been studied to a greater extent than the heavier lanthanides. Neodymium(III) has received the most attention due to the perception that it can be used as an analogue for the trivalent actinide metals, in particular, americium (III). All of the isotopes of promethium are radioactive. [Pg.244]

In his investigation of the nature of the formation of the Sm-type structure, Lundin (1966) included some alloys in the neodymium-lutetium system that combine the heaviest of the heavy lanthanides with the heaviest of the light lanthanides that still have the dhcp structure. His neodymium metal was 99.9 -I- wt% pure... [Pg.80]
