Lung continued

Radon (Rn) and Radon Decay Products Radon is a radioactive gas formed in the decay of uranium. The radon decay products (also called radon daughters or progeny) can be breathed into the lung where they continue to release radiation as they further decay. 

Doses calculated in animals are converted to equivalent doses in humans on the basis of comparative physiological considerations (c.g., ventilatory parameters and regional lung surface areas). Additionally, if the e.xposure period was discontinuous, it is adjusted to reflect continuous e.xposure.
