The luminescent tetracoordinate organoboron compounds can be broadly classified into four different types based on the nature of chelating ligands, namely, (i) A,0-chelate compounds, (ii) N,A -chelate compounds, (iii) N,C-chelate compounds, and (iv) other chelate compounds.
