In another effort, by Nickolay Smirnov s group at the M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, a model for theoretical investigation of turbulent mixing and combustion of polydispersed mixtures in confined volumes was developed (Chapter 14). The numerical model and the software created make it possible to determine the combustion and ignition characteristics of polydispersed mixtures. The model has been validated with experiments. [Pg.7]

For more than 30 years at Lomonosov Moscow State University, later at Karpov Institute of Physical Chemistry, and recently at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala (V. G. Kessler), the authors of this book have systematically studyiedthe synthesis and properties of homometallic alkoxides of Groups I-Vm of the Periodic Table, the bimetallic derivatives (alkox-oaluminates, -titanates, -zirconates, -niobates, -tantalates, -molybdates, -tung-... [Pg.5]

Leonid Belen kii was born in Moscow, and he graduated from M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1953 with Professor A. P. Terentiev as supervisor in organic chemistry. Since 1955, he has worked as junior, senior (since 1966), and leading scientist (since 1988) at N. D. Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, where he obtained his Ph.D. degree (1963) under the direction of Professor Ya. L. Gol dfarb and his Degree of Dr. Chem. Sci. (1974) and rank of Professor in Chemistry (1991). His scientific interests include all aspects of chemistry of heterocyclic and aromatic compounds, particularly electrophilic substitution in benzene, thiophene, furan, and azole series as well as organosulfur chemistry. [Pg.95]

Oleg Rakitin was born in Moscow in 1952, studied at M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, and graduated in 1974. He has worked as a junior researcher (1974-82), senior researcher (1982— 94), principal researcher (1994-95), and since 1995 as head of the laboratory at N. D. Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry. He received his Ph.D. in 1980 and his Doctor of Science in 1992. He has spent several months in the laboratory of Professor C. W. Rees at Imperial College (London, UK) being awarded a Royal Society Kapitza Fellowship (1992), a Royal Society of Chemistry Journals Grant for International Authors (1997, 2000, 2004), and Royal Society Joint Projects (1993, 1999, 2002, 2004). He has been a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry since 1999. His scientific interests include the synthesis and chemistry of nitrogen and sulfur heterocyclic compounds, particularly polysulfur heterocycles. [Pg.36]

In the final chapter "Principles of Statistical Chemistry as Applied to Kinetic Modeling of Polymer Obtaining Processes" by Semion Kuchanov (Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia), the contemporary problems of bridging models of micro- and macrostructure are discussed. The hierarchical analysis of chemical correlation functions (so-called chemical correlators) is a subject of the author s special interest. These problems are presented conceptually stressing that the problem of crucial importance is revealing the relation between the process mode and the chemical structure of polymer products obtained. [Pg.228]
