Location of hydrogen in H,MO

This group of compounds which, at high x values, have cubic structures, are based on MOg octahedra sharing vertices of two-connected oxygen [Pg.109]

The presence of —OH groups is confirmed by the appearance of an intense peak in the INS spectrum falling in the range 950-1300 cm which is characteristic of the [Pg.110]

H2M0O3 prepared by Zn/HCl reduction also contains OHj groups . In contrast, H2M0O3 prepared by ion exchange from Li2Mo03 which has a layered structure related to a-HCr02, contains only —OH groups . [Pg.115]

Given below are some of the phases for which partial structural information of this type is available. [Pg.115]

Under ambient conditions, the parent rutile phases have, in general, a low reactivity towards hydrogen, presumably because, in these structures, all the oxygen atoms are bonded to three metal atoms. VO2 and Cr02, however, react by spillover to form and P-Ho.gCr02 [Pg.115]
