The foregoing discussion on complementary feedback was based primarily on critically damped response. With a pure dead-time process, this was the best obtainable. But with less difficult processes, lower damping will enhance recovery from load disturbances due to greater controller gain. 

Vallet-Regi and coworkers have reported the use of AMF as an external release trigger to develop on-off stimuli-responsive DDSs [186]. In this system, oligonucleotide-modified MSNPs encapsulating y-Fe203 SPIONPs were loaded with a model molecule (fluorescein) and then capped with SPIONPs functionalized with the complementary strand, which acted as gatekeepers (Figure 42.11).
