Load Positioning Relative to Burners, Walls, Hearth, Roofs, and Flues

Load Positioning Relative to Burners, Walls, Hearth, Roofs, and Flues (sec. 7.3 discusses flue location) [Pg.326]

Operators and managers must understand the following general principles  [Pg.326]

Principle 1. Loads should be placed on piers or stools. [Pg.326]

Principle 2. Loads must not be positioned so that they obstruct outlet ports (flues) in the hearth or sidewalls. Likewise, loads must not obstruct inlet ports (burners) or their flames, or their intended paths supplying circulation to the loads in distant parts of the furnace. [Pg.326]

Principle 3. Loads must not be placed so close together that gases cannot easily pass between them. [Pg.326]
