Liner fabrics

Textiles. A unique combination of desirable quaUties and low cost accounts for the demand for acetate ia textiles. In the United States, acetate and triacetate fibers are used ia tricot-knitting and woven constmctions, with each accounting for approximately half the total volume. This distribution changes slightly according to market trends. The main markets are women s apparel, eg, dresses, blouses, lingerie, robes, housecoats, ribbons, and decorative household appHcations, eg, draperies, bedspreads, and ensembles. Acetate has replaced rayon filament ia liner fabrics for men s suits and has been evaluated for nonwoven fabrics (79—81). [Pg.299]

After extensive testing it was found that pure nickel best withstood corrosive action encountered in this preparation of sodium superoxide. Even this material shows definite signs of corrosion as a black nickel oxide coating formed on the liners during a run. Fortunately, the rate of corrosion is rather slow but the effects of this corrosion are noticeable in the tabulation of experimental data.A machined nickel crucible was used in the small bomb and a liner fabricated from a 12-inch length of 6-inch nickel tubing and a nickel plate was used in the large bomb. [Pg.125]

Employees who point out that their hands feel hot may need a different glove model than the one they are currently wearing. Today many gloves are manufactured with ventilation holes to address this issue. In addition, the liner fabric of the glove can make a huge diffaence in worker comfort. For example, gloves with a cotton liner base are generally cooler to wear than those built on a synthetic fiber base. [Pg.32]

Fabric-supported or coated fabric gloves are a small but important part of the market. They are primarily used where a high degree of mechanical protection, combined with water and chemical resistance, is required. The construction is based on a textile liner which has been coated with a polymeric layer. The liner fabric gives a benefit in user comfort and may be made from cotton, polyester, nylon or even Kevlar. The liners are formed by cutting and sewing the chosen fabric into the desired shape, or they are knitted in one piece. While the cut and sewn type predominates... [Pg.394]

The DUROTEX GPM treatment involves a mixture of two resin concentrates (DUROTEX GPM and trimethylolmelamine) which, when properly applied with a catalyst will inhibit the development of bacterial and mildew (fungus) odors on textiles and provide hygienic freshness. DUROTEX GPM is recommended as a treatment for shoe innersoles and liner fabrics. [Pg.187]
