Linear Array Test

The strain measurement test set-up consisted of linear array of shat and gage holes, as shown in Fig Ex 15. The holes were drilled in solid rock about 25 ft deep and at a distance from any free face, so that charges detonated at the bottom of the shot... [Pg.298]

The most difficult part of planning the flight test is associated with determining a flight-test profile that is representative of the FCLP mission profile. In order to obtain improved statistical accuracy through ensemble averaging [2], ground-based acoustic measurements are performed with a linear array of microphones, like that shown in Fig. 4.1. [Pg.246]

PVDF is generally an ideal material for transducers operating at frequencies above 0.5 MHz in hydrophones and pulse echo probes for medical and nonmedical testing. A 64-element linear array transducer has been produced that, operating at 5 MHz, offers a wide-bandwidth pulse response, sharp ultrasonic field distribution, and a high energy conversion efficiency. [Pg.594]

The first step involved massive testing at ANDREX laboratory to determine the optimal detection process. Two imaging methods were discussed, one using a linear detector array, the other using a high resolution image intensifier. [Pg.587]

Cd2+ and the Pb2+ and all electrodes display the two peaks but to different extents. Despite the peak overlap, the electrode array can be calibrated for each metal ion using a three-way partial least squares regression (AT-PLS) [53]. The electrode array was employed to analyse three test samples of known concentration of Cu2+, Cd2+ and Pb2+ and the concentrations of each analyte predicted by the calibrated electrode array are shown in Table 10.1. As can be seen from Table 10.1 there is reasonable agreement between the actual and predicted values despite the fact that all electrodes respond to all analytes and that the electrochemical responses to lead and cadmium overlap. Further improvements would be expected if the calibrations were performed with a box experimental design, which encompassed the linear range of all the sensors. [Pg.207]
