Line gates

Moulded plastics will also have crack initiation sites created by moulding defects such as weld lines, gates, etc and by filler particles such as pigments, stabilisers, etc. And, of course, stress concentrations caused by sharp geometrical discontinuities will be a major source of fatigue cracks. Fig. 2.72 shows a typical fatigue fracture in which the crack has propagated from a surface flaw. [Pg.139]

In contrast to wedge barriers and crash beams, which are typically installed separately from a fence line, gates are often integrated units of a perimeter fence or wall around a facility. Gates are basically movable pieces of fencing that can be opened and... [Pg.163]

A typical active matrix thin film transistor (AM-TFT) backplane contains one transistor per pixel in a structure having four to six separate layers composed of conductors, dielectrics, and semiconductors. The TFT works as a switch with the on and off states controlling when each pixel can be addressed. Each pixel is connected to the other through the addressing lines, gate line, and data line. The gate lines turn the TFT on or off while the data (image to be displayed) are transmitted by the data... [Pg.427]

FIGURE 8.69 The basic single bus computer. This CISC machine is characterized by multiple registers linked by a bus, which carries both address and data information to and from the various registers (see text). Control lines gating the input and output of each register are governed by the information contained in the control store. [Pg.779]

Pour typical weU patterns for contaminant plume containment are described in Ref. 16. The first is a pair of injection-production weUs. The second is a line of downgradient pumping weUs. The third is a pattern of injection-production weUs around the boundary of a plume. The fourth, the double-cell system, uses an inner ceU and outer recirculation ceU, with four ceUs along a line bisecting the plume in the direction of flow. Two other methods of plume containment are bio filters and a fuimel-and-gate system, which are described in the in bioremediation section. [Pg.169]

The loeation that was finally seleeted was the Mission Regulator Station. This was one of the three eity gate stations supplying the distribution loop from tlie transiuission system. Mission is on tlie southern end of tlie 16-in. transiuission line, whieh was rated at 795 psig maximum. [Pg.473]
