Lightning rod

Since most storage tanks release flammable vapors at seals and vents, they are susceptible to lightning induced fires. Common European practice is to provide lightning rods on the highest vessel at a facility to provide a cone of protection for the facility. NFPA 780 provides additional guidance for the provisions of lightning protection measures.

The fact that they preach in churches does not free them from the necessity of a lightning rod. 

There are several manufacturers of either radioactive lightning or lightning dissipation systems. The predominant scientific belief, however, is that neither of these systems are any benefit over the conventional lightning protection system. Extensive studies have been performed recently on dissipation arrays which only serve to enhance what scientists dating back to Franklin over 200 years ago have said namely, that these arrays do no more than a conventional lightning rod and indeed probably do less. These studies have examined the historical, theoretical and experimental aspects of the arrays and have also investigated the arrays on site at several installations. 

The lightning rod has the purpose of intercepting a lightning strike and deflecting it from the structure. When several lightning rods are to be put on a building, one should develop a common-sense solution which will strike a reasonalble balance between protection and cost. 

Prevention and Control Help trees recover by removing damaged bark or branches. Water during dry spells, and fertilize to promote vigorous growth. If you have an especially valuable tree, you might want to protect it with a lightning rod. 

You should also not seek shelter under a tree during a thunderstorm. The tree not only sticks up like a lightning rod, but the sap in the tree also contains electrolytes, and conducts the electricity. Lightning finds a path to the ground through the trunk of the tree.

In melodrama, we enter and experience the story through the main character. In docudrama, however, the point of view—or point of entry to the story—is via the writer-director, whose point of view is not necessarily that of the main character. In fact, the main character and his or her goal is simply the vehicle by which the writer-director presents his or her views on the story. In Land and Freedom, Ken Loach wants to say something about idealism and about how realpolitik destroys the idealism that arises out of hopeful political ideology. He uses the main character and his consequent disillusionment as the vehicle for that idea. In this film, the view of the writer-director exists separately from the main character and his goal. The main character and his goal become the lightning rod for the ideas of the writer-director. 

Mercury represents the way you think, while Uranus is a lightning rod that attracts inspiration from out of the blue. Depending on how the two interact, they can bring out the brilliant inventor, the mad scientist, or the talkative eccentric from down the street.
