Leucine residues cytochrome

Even where complete sequences are not available some noteworthy features of primary structure may emerge. Several more extension sequences of protein precursors have been reported. - It has been shown that in the primary structure of a cytochrome P450, from rabbit liver microsomes (P-450 LM2), there is an A-terminal methionyl residue and 17 out of the first 20 residues are hydrophobic, with two clusters of 5 L-leucine residues. This is very similar to the extension sequences of the protein precursors. [Pg.171]
