C15H22O, Mr 218.34, oil, [ajp-168°. A sesquiterpene aldehyde isolated from the liverwort Lepidozia vitrea that induces growth inhibition in the leaves and roots of rice shoots (IC50 0.2-1 mmoI/L). [Pg.325]

The stereostructure of (—)-isobicyclogermacrenal (230) isolated from Lepidozia vitrea was determined by comparing the H-NMR spectrum with the spectra of bicyclogermacrenes (228) and (230) 215). The geometries of two double bonds of (230) were based on NOE experiments.
