Bicyclo[ 1.1.0] butane was synthesized by David Lemal, Fredric Menger, and George Clark at the University of Wisconsin (Journal of the American Chemical Society, 1963, 85, 2529). Cubane was synthesized by Philip Eaton and Thomas Cole, Jr., at the University of Chicago (Journal of the American Chemical Society, 1964, 86, 3157). Prismane was synthesized hy Thomas Katz and Nancy Acton at Columbia University (Journal of the American Chemical Society, 1973, 95, 2738).
