LDL extraction and purification

Reference Modification of Chung (1980) by G. Paganga (Division of Biochemistry, United Medical Dental Schools of Guy s St. Thomas s). 

M is the weight of sodium bromide to be added to a volume v of solution to change its density from d to d2 (at a stated temperature) and v is the partial specific volume of the salt at the relevant temperature and concentration. Values of v can be determined for sodium bromide applying the data of Baxter and Wallace (see Mills et al.). 

Simplified, plasma volume x 0.4571 gives the weight of NaBr required to give the correct density.
