Ethyl l-cyclohexanecarbonyl-2-azetidinecarboxylate (2.7 g) was oxidised to ethyl l-cyclohexane-carbonyl-4-oxo-2-azetidinecarboxylate (RuO /aq. Na(lO )/ CCy [42].
