Figure 7.7 is a comparison of the response of Fido to a high-volume vapor (REST) sample and a sample collected with the soil vapor probe. The samples were both collected near a TM-62P3 landmine. The REST sample generated a weak sensor response, but the sample collected with the soil probe resulted in a strong Fido response. This data illustrates the improvement in sensor response that can be achieved with the soil probe. More importantly, all mines sampled with the probe (a total of four) were detected.
