Knockdown capability

A measure of the effectiveness of a defoamer. First, a column of foam is generated in a foam stability apparatus and the foam height is recorded. A measured amount of defoamer is added, and the reduction in foam height over a specified time period, for example, 2 s, is noted. The knockdown capability is the reduction in foam height. This test has many variations. Sometimes referred to as initial knockdown capability . [Pg.379]

These Initial Investigations of the charge Injection device have Indicated that the device promises to be a successful detector for simultaneous multielement analysis In atomic emission spectrometry. The unique non-destructive readout, coupled with selective knockdown and pseudo-random addressing give the CID system capabilities unparalleled in any other detector available today. The device has been shown to have at least an adequate sensitivity, can be operated in a manner which reduces pixel cross talk, and the dynamic range of the system can be extended to virtually any desired level. [Pg.131]

Today, 90 percent of Brenneke s product is lead, but the 11/8-ounce (492.2 gr.) 12-gauge. 63-inch diameter Super Sabot in 2 M- or 3-inch lengths is lead-free. Frankly, Brenneke writes, citing loss of knockdown power, we never believed in sabots. Sure, they are capable of very good accuracy. But. And yet, here they are and Brenneke rates its Super Sabot ( 15.98 - 17.79, box of five) for accuracy at less than 2 /2-inches (five rounds) at 100 yards and for expansion from. 63 to 1.0 inch. [Pg.103]
