King Kong

The Mandarin Oriental, New York, which opened in November at 80 Columbus Circle, has done right by me. On the thirty-fifth floor, beyond the lobby, is the Lobby Lounge—a warm well of comfortable seating and flattering light with a King Kong—size conversational view of Central Park and the city. 

After watching both versions of King Kong, my family declared that the original was the dullest. No error.

Sequence homology within conotoxin subtypes appears not to be related to receptor selectivity. For example, the cj-conotoxins found in several piscivorous cone snail species all paralyze fish and target the presynaptic calcium channels, yet they have up to 70% difference in their sequences. The only amino acids that are conserved are the Cys residues that provide the basic framework of these particular conotoxins. These findings indicate that the non-Cys amino acids are crucial in the physiological role of conotoxins. In the movie King Kong (Universal Studios, 2005) the inhabitants of the island built a giant wall to protect themselves against the giant ape. When it comes to chemical exposures, you need to be thinking in a similar vein—what you can use as a barrier to protect your body from exposure. 

But why are there no giants like King Kong or Godzilla ...
