J-shifting and capture models for estimating cross sections

J-shifting and capture models for estimating cross sections [Pg.11]

To compute cross sections we must perform calculations over all important J values, and for high J values each calculation becomes quite difficult. [Pg.11]

Recently we have studied the O+H2 reaction. This reaction proceeds through a deep well and has no bottle neck geometry. It has proved impossible to apply or formulate a J shifting approximation for this case. We have therefore developed a capture model [14]. [Pg.12]

In this capture model we compute the reaction probability for J = 0 or some low value of J, say We then define a one dimensional effective [Pg.12]

This effective potential has a barrier higher J values is then estimated by  [Pg.12]
