For acrylamide, Ap/A, =22 liter/mol sec at 25°C and termination is by coupling alone. At this temperature the half-life of isobutyryl peroxide is 9.0 h and its efficiency in methanol can be taken to be equal to 0.3. A solution of 100 g/liter acrylamide in methanol is polymerized with 10 M isobutyryl peroxide. 

The radical crystallizes from benzene as a green 1 1 complex, m.p. 231-233°, or without solvent from acetic acid as brown needles, m.p. 188-191°. It is highly dissociated but remarkably stable to oxygen. In fact the original paper describing the substance and submitted by Koelsch in 1932 was initially rejected because a referee held that the properties were not those of a radical. Of the available radicals, BDPA was found to be the most suitable as a radical scavenger in the decomposition of cyclohexylformyl and isobutyryl peroxides. ... 

Olesik et al. studied the decomposition of allyldiisopropylamine oxide in SCCO2 [48]. Sigman et al. investigated the decomposition of bis(isobutyryl) peroxide in SCCO2 and supercritical CCI4 and CHCI3 [49].
