Experimental studies have demonstrated that inorganic reactions during pyrite formation produce minimal isotopic fractionation. Precipitation of iron monosulfide by reaction of H2S with an iron source results in fractionations generally less than l.5%c (Bottcher et al., 1998 Price and Shieh, 1979), and subsequent transformation of monosulfide to pyrite shows similarly small fractionations (Price and Shieh, 1979). [Pg.3731]
