Iron, organometallic chemistry

Use of Co(CO)4 in Organic Syntheses. The synthetic potential provided by the various methods for formation, modification, and cleavage of the Co bond with the aid of Co(CO)4 has been exploited, in a way similar to that done with the Fe congener Fe(CO)4 (or FeH(CO)4 ), in versatile stoichiometric and catalytic reactions (see Iron Organometallic Chemistry).
