IR-reflecting plastic sheets

Certain materials already exist as a sheet or film, including plastics, metals (with coatings), paper, etc. If the material is transparent (to IR radiation) then is may be analyzed directly as a self-supported film by transmission. Alternatively, one of the reflectance methods may be used. For polymers and materials such as paper, the ATR approach may be used—in particular, the horizontal ATR equipped with a pressure applicator. This will work for coated or uncoated samples.
