Cone calorimetry experiments confirm the enhancement of performance using zeolite. Figure 6.7 shows the curves of RHR versus time of the formulation LRAM3.5-APP/PER with and without zeolite 4A. A significant decrease in the RHR maxima in the flame-retarded polymers is observed comparison with that of the virgin polymer. In the case of intumescent formulations, the RHR decreases strongly after ignition. It is noteworthy that the RHR behavior of the intumescent polymers is similar.
