In Italy, the Interuniversity National Consortium Chemistry for the Environment (INCA) was founded in 1993 and rapidly become an internationally recognized reference center for green chemistry. The many initiatives include the periodical School on Green Chemistry, the organization of the first International lUPAC Conference on Green Chemistry and the Green Chemistry Publication Series.
