Interpreting TGA curves

In addition to the TGA curve, a number of other curves can be used for interpretation purposes  

The visual inspection of the sample after the measurement - if possible using a refiected light microscope - can yield qualitative information about the residue (ash like, glassy, white or coloured powder, soot particles). 

The effects described in the following sections show the typical shape of TGA curves. The curves are blank curve corrected.
