Internal drawdown

Thermoformable foamed PP sheet that processes with the same drawdown, sag and cycle times as PS has been manufactured by Omam using new PP blends and Safoam carbon dioxide blowing agents from Reedy International. Oman has already produced monolayer PP sheet with a 40% density reduction and three layer sheet with a 50% density reduction. The trials have been carried out using blends of conventional PP and a new high melt strength PP grade developed by Montell. The Omam line used to produce the foamed PP sheet is conventional apart from... [Pg.87]

The outside diameter of the pipe may be calibrated either by an internal air pressure of 1.3 to 2.0 bar, or by external calibration in a vacuum sizing tank (Fig. 6.17) operating at a pressure of 0.3 to 0.5 bar. For calibration by internal pressure, the diameter of the die ring is made approximately equal to the internal diameter of the finished pipe. For vacuum tank calibration, the die ring is made up to 25% larger and the haul-off is set for a wall thickness drawdown of up to 30%. [Pg.203]

When a body of material moves en bloc it is not flowing in the conventional sense of the word. However, the term bed flow is used here to describe material moving over the whole cross-section of a parallel flow channel while sliding on the boundary container walls, and complements the descriptions of flow regimes for the common types of hopper flow patterns. The cross-section does not necessarily move with uniform velocity this depends to a large extent on the underlying drawdown pattern at the termination of the parallel wall section, as modified in the parallel charmel by the relationship between wall friction and the internal friction of the bulk. [Pg.96]

After passage through the stomata, CO2 diffusion from the intercellular space into the stroma where carboxylation occurs depends upon a series of conductances that are referred to collectively as the internal or mesophyll conductance (Terashima et al., 2011). As it turns out, these combined internal conductances substantially limit photosynthesis, and explain nearly half of the drawdown in CO2 concentration between the atmosphere and the stroma... [Pg.46]

It is obvious that the two different type of processes create a different increase of speed, different cool-down ratios, and have results in different levels of internal tension at the drawdown point. These differences result in different filament properties of the two processes. [Pg.144]
