Overall, the interdisciplinary WDKA seminars have been successful in the five years since their introduction at UWG. Both student satisfaction and student success data indicate that the seminar courses made a positive impact. Further, we found that the level of interaction among faculty was high and produced positive collaborations. Finally, the courses posed logistical challenges that may be difficult to overcome in the absence of external funding or tangible institutional support. 

All three seminars were targeted to address (1) overwhelming content by providing a collaborative/cooperative learning environment (2) connections among content areas by building interdisciplinary, inquiry-oriented activities and (3) content relevance by providing a model for contextualization of theoretical mathematics and science content. 

Similarly, WDYK Forensics made use of the popularity of the CSI television series to draw science students into interdisciplinary scientific learning. The application of a wide variety of research-grade instrumentation to problem solving, combined with a mock trial, gives students the opportunity both to generate relevant data and to critically evaluate the security of their conclusions. Klavs Jensen Sebastian Reyes research on percolative fragmentation, which is the work that Adel Sarofim cited, is an example of what can be achieved by interdisciplinary problem solving, in this case a combination of fluid mechanics and reaction engineering.
