Intensification, silver stains

APES may interfere with silver salt solutions in intensification steps of immunogold silver-staining techniques therefore, for those applications, poly-L-lysine or gelatin-coated slides are preferable. 

Silver Intensification Silver intensification has a noticeable effect on low values, which is where thin, underexposed negatives usually need help. It does, however, have the unfortunate habit of staining everything black. Wear gloves and try not to get it on your hands or clothes, but if you accidentally stain yourself, try using the Developer Stain Remover for Hands found in Formulas. Uses Most important silver salt used in photography emulsion making intensification etc. Caution Stains on fingers can be removed by rubbing with tincture of iodine followed by a strong solution of hypo.
