INSIGHT INTO Explosions

Numerical Work. The results of experiments described above can be better understood when compared to the results of numerical and analytical studies. Numerical studies, in particular, provide real insight into the shock formation process. Chushkin and Shurshalov (1982) and Adamczyk (1976) provide comprehensive reviews of the many studies in this field. The majority of these studies were performed for military purposes and dealt with blast from nuclear explosions, high explosives, or... 

Insights into the human causes of accidents for a specific category of process plant installations are provided by the Oil Insurance Association report on boiler safety (Oil Insurance Association, 1971). This report provides a large number of case studies of human errors that have given rise to boiler explosions. 

Similarly, the structure of 5-nitro-2,4-dihydro-377-l,2,4-triazol-3-one (NTO) 6 has been scrutinized using molecular orbital calculations using the 6-31+G and 6-311+G basis sets. These calculations examined the various tautomers of NTO and give an insight into the molecular mechanisms involved in its explosive decomposition <1996JA8048>. 

The higher-order hydrocarbons, particularly propane and above, oxidize much more slowly than hydrogen and are known to form metastable molecules that are important in explaining the explosion limits of hydrogen and carbon monoxide. The existence of these metastable molecules makes it possible to explain qualitatively the unique explosion limits of the complex hydrocarbons and to gain some insights into what the oxidation mechanisms are likely to be. 

U.S. Army CRRDC also measured surface contamination. In addition, they measured flux of molecules from mines in both air and water. Mines form one of the larger groups of explosive bearing targets for trace chemical sensors. Therefore, these measurements provide some insight into the concentrations at the source... 

To gain some insight into these phenomena, without getting too involved in mathematical complexities, let us first examine some limiting cases of impulse delivered to a) a rigid wall b) air (for HE detonations there is very little difference in the final results in the explosive impulse delivered to air or to a vacuum)... 

In other words, the author has sufficient insight into the causes of explosion from different angles and concludes that the areas mentioned in the subsequent paragraphs require special attention at all levels, that is, right from the most junior (bench level) worker to the top management (head of the organization, laboratory or factory) to eliminate or reduce the frequency of explosions, accidents or fires. 

Dibenzotriazocine 213 is useful as a dye for wool, polyesters, or polyacrylonitriles (64USP3133086). The syntheses of 218 (vide supra) and other nitramines were investigated in order to gain insight into the chemistry of nitramine explosives (49JCS1631,49JCS1638) (see Section V, A, 1). 

Fifteen years later, upon reflecting on this and other experiences, I see that my encounters with the little princes initiated a new phase in my life and consciousness. They showed me worlds of unique and special beauty that I could never have imagined. This feature alone would have made these encounters worthwhile for me, but beyond that, I have been shown depths, treasures, and insights into my own existence. These function like time-released explosive charges, gradually transforming my attitudes, behavior, and feeling nature—in short, my entire worldview.
