Inorganic particle-polymer thermal stability

The presence of the inorganic phase within the polymer matrix typically improves the thermal stability of hybrid membranes by increasing the degradation temperature because of the superior stability of the inorganic fillers compared with the polymeric phase [90,126]. Moreover, the reduced mobility of the polymer chains upon the inclusion of the particles tends to slightly increase the glass transition temperature of the hybrid membranes compared with the neat polymer matrix [90,126,127]. [Pg.190]
