Inorganic complex, high molecular weight

Oil shale is a low-permeahle rock made of inorganic material interspersed with a high-molecular weight organic substance called Kerogen. Heating the shale rock produces an oily substance with a complex structure.

Bergmann and Pringsheim cited the work of P. Karrer, K. Hess, and R. Pummerer and referred to primary and secondary bonding as proposed by Werner.

Type 3 metal complexes involve the physical interaction of a metal complex, chelates, or metal cluster with an organic polymer or inorganic high molecular weight compound. The preparation of type 3 compounds differs from those of type 1 and type 2, as they are ultimately achieved through the use of adsorption, deposition by evaporation, microencapsulation, and various other methods.

The availability of worthwhile spectroscopic information strongly argues for the use of transition metal salts in fundamental studies of polyether-salt systems.
