Figure 9.46 shows the P I diagram of part of a plant for the continuous production of nitroglycol according to the injector nitration process (similar to a jet pump). The feed materials for the reaction are mixed acid (26 % of concentrated nitric acid, 62 % of oleum, 10 % H2O and 2 % of nitrogycol from the spent acid recirculation) and glycol.
