Inflating agents

Fluorinatton of graphite with fluorine gives graphite fluorides that have interesting properties, as recently reviewed [63]. Pyridine and its derivatives add elemental fluorine to form unstable N-fluoro adducts [14, 26, 64, 65]. These may decompose to 2-fluoropyndines [65] or be stabilized by treatment with inflate salts to form useful electrophilic fluonnating agents [64]... 

Many animals in the garden feed on pests. Some, like lady beetles, are more obvious than others, and get most of the thanks. Some we like for aesthetic or sentimental reasons and readily inflate their importance in the pest control stakes, such as toads. But many insignificant creatures work unnoticed, keeping pest populations below threshold levels. The animals pictured and described overleaf are effective pest control agents in the garden. 

In the earhest days of computer systems highly inflated estimates of the power, potential, and accuracy of systems created a strong pathos of proof. The computer says so became the rall3nng cry and defense of billing agents, government clerks, and bureaucrats the world over. As stories of enormous and humorous computer errors flooded popular culture in later years, however, a computer error became as common a punch line as the check is in the mail computer professionals fell from godlike status to a reputation probably far below the reasonable norm of accurate and reliable system function. The result was, and is, an appropriate demand for controls, even as most reviews demonstrate that those controls are preventive rather than corrective of real problems.
