For example, the low-freqnency region of the spectra of inelastic light scattering of amorphous polymers is a broad structureless plateau [22]. This is due to the fractal structure of polymers on small linear scales [22, 36]. 

The quantum-chemical level simulation was performed to study first steps of fumed silica synthesis from molecules to small silica protopaiticles. Vibrational spectroscopy (infiared and inelastic neutron scattering) was used to verify simulated structures.
