India global exports

Zoeteman et al. [1] present an estimation on global e-waste flow for the year 2005. They identified USA, EU-25, and Japan as the important exporting actors and China, India and West Africa as the common importers of e-waste. The calculations of Zoeteman et al. [1] (Table 2 of their article) are based on a number of assumptions and presented in Table 4. [Pg.319]

India is the global leader in value-added products of turmeric and exports. Value-added products from turmeric include cur-cuminoids, dehydrated turmeric powder, oils and oleoresin. Turmeric, like other spices, is available whole, as ground and as oleoresin. The institutional sector in the West buys ground turmeric and oleoresins, while in the industrial sector, whole dry turmeric is preferred. [Pg.99]

This imbalance of trade in chemicals has come about not only because certain commodity petrochemicals produced in the United States are now less competitive globally, as a result of higher natural gas costs, but also because such Asian countries as China and India have now become substantial, reliable exporters of specialty chemicals and pharma intermediates. [Pg.31]

Butyl methoxy dibenzoyl methane is now manufactured in India, Europe, and USA. Global demand has been estimated at 200 tpa. In India, the FMCG major Hindustan Lever Ltd. (HLL) is the largest manufacturer and user of the material. Their brand name is Hysol. Another chemical company known as Chemspec Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. also manufactures this product for merchant sale. Based on the discussions with officials of HLL and Chemspec, it was learnt that 60-75 tpa is the total Indian requirement. Some quantities are exported to Europe and USA. [Pg.74]

Globally the product is made by BASF, H R, Givaudan, IFF, etc. Some quantities are also made in India mostly for export. It has been estimated that the global demand is to the tune of 75-100 tpa. [Pg.93]

In the past several years, the global tea production has been greater than tea consumption. The world tea market remains in oversupply. As FAO mentioned, the increase of consumption should be done by exploration of both the traditional export markets and domestic markets of producing countries. Particularly, the producing countries market has remarkable potential to increase their per capita tea consumption levels. For example, per capita consumption levels in India, China, and Kenya are only 0.69, 0.52, and 0.40 kg, respectively, while per capita consumption levels in the Russian Federation and the United Kingdom are 1.26 and 2.20 kg, respectively. [Pg.8]

In 2008 the global chemical industry was a 3.7 trillion enterprise. In the past, the United States and Western Europe were the top exporters of chemicals to developing countries, but now they lag behind Asia-Pacific countries, primarily because of production in China and India. Surpassing U.S. and European output, the Asia region experienced an increase of 9.1 percent in its share of world chemical sales (Figure 1-1) from 1997 (17.0 percent) to 2007 (30.4 percent), a stark contrast with the decUne in both Europe (from 32.2 percent to 29.5 percent) and the countries adhering to the North American Free Trade Agreement (from 28.0 percent to 22.2 percent). ... [Pg.20]
