Inclined chute

Mill feeders attached to the feed trunnion of the conical mill and used to pass the feed into the mill without backspill are of several types. A feed chute is generally used for diy grinding, this consisting of an inclined chute which is sealed at the outer edge of the trunnion and down which the material slides to pass through the trunnion and into the mill. A screw feeder, consisting of a short section of screw conveyor which extends partway into the opening in the feed trunnion and conveys the materi into the mill, may also be used when diy... [Pg.1852]

Most briquettes or compacts leaving the roller press must be handled gently directly after pressure release. Therefore, it is essential to select correctly designed inclined chutes and rubber belt conveyors. Perfectly well formed and densified products can be destroyed by the use of shaker, drag chain, apron, screw, or... [Pg.338]

If twin screws are fitted to enhance storage volume, rather than providing a wide outlet for flow, then the capacity can he further enhanced by the use of a central insert ridge between the two, to give a wider base to the hopper section, Fig. 3.7. Although the feeder outlet port is made wider by this technique, the discharging material can be focused by means of an inclined chute at a much lower inclination than that required to stimulate wall slip in the confined flow circumstances within the hopper. This is because flow in the discharge chute is unconfined. [Pg.46]

The sedimentary yeast forms a solid plug at the base of the vessel and through it the wort permeates. Some of the yeast is carried upwards by the flow of wort and by the dispersing of the yeast floes by maltose. Fermentation proceeds as the wort rises, with the rate of wort injection being so adjusted that at the top of the tower the wort is completely fermented. Yeast tends to fall from suspension in this region aided by an inclined chute provided near the beer... [Pg.298]

The discard having been sheared off, the dummy is knocked out of the shell and placed upright on a small platform (see Fig. 67), from where it is lifted by actuating a hand-lever, whereupon it rolls off through an inclined chute / on to a rotary table z and after a 90" turn through the chute y right in front of the container. The rotary table is moved by actuating a foot pedal. This chute y is split to allow for the container to be shifted. [Pg.76]

Kinetic theory-based models used to study the flow of granular material down an inclined chute have usually ignored the effect of the interstitial gas. In this paper, we derive new expressions for the drag force and energy dissipation caused by the interstitial gas. We apply this new model to fully-developed steady mixture flows down a simple inclined chute and compare the results to other simulations. Our results show that the interstitial gas plays a significant role in modifying the characteristics of fully-developed flow, especially for small particles. [Pg.255]
