Immobilization systems polyacrylates

The advantages that heterogeneous catalysts have is that they are easily separable from the product, and can be recycled. A number of studies have been conducted in which ligands have been attached or bound to polymeric material to provide an immobilized ligand, and these include polyacrylate and silica [27], polyurea [28], polythiourea [29], polyether [30, 31] and dendritic [32] systems. Upon metal coordination, the immobilized catalysts have retained most of the activity and selectivity, but they now provide the advantage of simple separation and recycling. For exam-... [Pg.1220]

There have been reports on the use of polyacrylates and itaconates [166-173] as hosts for polymer electrolytes. Table 7 summarizes the conductivity data observed for these systems. Most of these show conductivities of about 10 5 S cnr1 only at high temperatures. Tsuchida and coworkers have investigated poly [(co-carboxy)] oligo (oxyethylene) methacrylate with an immobilized anion (COO ) as a host... [Pg.163]

Copol5mierization is also a frequent method of heterogenization. A water-soluble pol5mier was prepared by coupling a chiral phosphane, PPM, to polyacrylic acid and used for the immobilization of [Rh(NBD)2]OTf. At 22 bar of hydrogen in water or in a biphasic (water-AcOEt) system, this catalyst accomplished the enantioselective hydrogenation of the precursor of A-AcPhe with an ee of 89 % (Malmstrom et al. ). [Pg.164]

The immobilized thermolysin was prepared by adsorption of the enzyme onto the supports, polyacrylic ester resins (AmberUte series) and pore glass particles (CPG series), followed by crosslinking with glutaraldehyde in aqueous solutions. The activity of the immobilized enzyme was assayed by measuring the initial synthetic rate of fV-(benzyloxycarbonyl)-L-phenylalanyl-L-phynylalanine methyl ester in the biphasic reaction system. [Pg.61]
