Immobilization polymer resins

Cyclic low molecular weight compounds. Chiral separations using chiral crown ethers immobilized on silica or porous polymer resins were first reported in the... [Pg.58]

The use of basic poly-TBD 2, allows for the rapid synthesis of aryl triflates (Scheme 4) [20]. Phenols were immobilized on resin 2 to afford intermediate polymer 11. This resin was... [Pg.267]

Candida antarctica Lipase B (CALB) is atfracting increasing attention as a biocatalyst for the synthesis of low molar mass and polymeric molecules. Almost all publications on immobilized CALB use the commercially available catalyst Novozym 435, which consists of CALB physically adsorbed onto a macroporous acrylic polymer resin (Lewatit VP OC 1600, Bayer). Primarily, commercial uses of CALB are limited to production of high-priced specialty chemicals because of the high cost of commercially available CALB preparations Novozym 435 (Novozymes A/S) and Chirazyme (Roche Molecular Biochemicals). Studies to better correlate enzyme activity to support parameters will lead to improved catalysts that have acceptable price-performance characteristics for an expanded range of industrial processes. [Pg.156]

The activity of CALB immobilized on resins 1 to 4 (see Table 1) was assessed by s-CL ring-opening polymerizations. All immobilized resins have similar CALB loading (5.1 to 5.7 %-by-wt) and water content (1.4 to 1.9%). As shown previously , different chemical shifts are observed for methylene protons (-OC//2-) of e-CL monomer, PCL internal repeat units and chain terminal -012-OH moities. Hence, by in situ NMR monitoring, monomer conversion and polymer number average molecular weight (A/ ) were determined. [Pg.161]

Fluorescence labeling provides a powerful tool for the selective and sensitive determination of a plethora of chemical and biochemical species in a variety of conditions, including live cells, in real time. Immobilization of a fluorescent label on a soHd support, such as microparticles or beaded polymer resins, have found interesting appHcations in the... [Pg.1398]

The ratio of molecules in the immobilized layer of molecules in the region of the glass fiber surface, compared with the remaining polymer matrix, has an empirical relationship with the corresponding specific heat jump attributed to the unfilled polymer resin ... [Pg.437]
