Imido-silanolates

Ketoximes and aldoximes Ketoximes and aldoximes are uniquely substituted C=N systems that react differently with titanocene and zirconocene. Aliphatic and alicyclic O-silylated ketoximes R2C=N OSiMe3 react with complex 1 with elimination of the alkyne and N—O bond cleavage to give imido-silanolates 85 [45],... [Pg.377]

The tris-neopentyl Mo(VI) nitride, Mo(-CH2- Bu)3(=N) [134], reacts with surface silanols of silica to yield the tris-neopentyl derivative intermediate [(=SiO)Mo (-CH2- Bu)3(=NH)] followed by reductive elimination of neopentane, as indicated by labeling studies from labeled starting organometallic complex, to yield the final imido neopentylideneneopentyl monosiloxy complex [(=SiO)Mo(=CH- Bu)(-CH2 - Bu)(=NH)] [135]. The surface-bound neopentylidene Mo(VI) complex is an active olefin metathesis catalyst [135]. Improved synthesis of the same surface complex with higher catalytic activity by benzene impregnation rather than dichlorometh-ane on silica dehydroxylated at 700 °C has been reported [136],... [Pg.580]

A 2000 study from Buffon [69] examined the reaction of Schrock-type, alkoxy-Mo-alkylidenes with the surface OH groups of silica, silica-alumina, and niobium oxide. The specific mode of attachment of the Mo-complex was found to be highly dependent upon the acid-base properties of the support. For silica, it appears to be a Lewis acid-base interaction between the Mo center and surface silanols, whereas in the case of silica-alumina, the attachment appears to occur via the addition of a surface OH group across the Mo-imido bond. In the case of niobium oxide, it is possible that the OH adds across the Mo-alkylidene, deactivating the complex, as the resulting material was completely inactive for metathesis. The activities of both immobilized catalysts were less than the parent homogeneous... [Pg.120]
