The main practical obstacle to the clinical trial of such compounds in penicillin-allergic patients is their high efficiency in eliciting anaphylactic reactions, since they are multivalent. However, various possibilities may be visualized to overcome this difficulty (e.g., protracted administration or antianaphylactic medication).
