Hypertension postmyocardial infarction

Ideal candidates for /1-blockers include patients in whom physical activity is a prominent cause of attacks those with coexisting hypertension, supraventricular arrhythmias, or postmyocardial infarction angina and those with anxiety associated with anginal episodes. /1-Blockers may be used safely in angina and heart failure. 

Metoprolol tartrate (Lopressor)—betaj Management of hypertension, angina pectoris, postmyocardial infarction. Hypertension PO 50-100 mg/d in one dose or two divided doses maintenance 100 150 mg/d in divided doses. Myocardial infarction IV 5 mg q2 min X three doses, then PO 100 mg BID. Pregnancy category C PB 12% half-life 3M hours...
