Hydroxyl ion, hydration

Typical variations from the norm are (a) chelation by the zwitterionic species of an amino acid to give a positively charged saturated complex ( protonated complex ), and (b) complexes in which one affinity of the metal is satisfied by the hydroxyl ion ( hydrated species ) (Perrin and Sharma, 1967). For such unusual cases, recourse should be made to the more detailed calculations afforded by a computer program (Leggett, 1983). [Pg.456]
