Hydroxy-5,8,14- Z -10- -eicosatetraenoic Acid 12-HETE

The fragment ions arising from deprotonated 11-HETE (1 l-hydroxy-5,8,12,14-eicosatetraenoic acid) are simple (Figure 10.4d). There are only two fragment ions at m/z 301 and 167. The former arises from the loss of water from the molecular ion and the latter yields from the cleavage of the ClO-Cl 1 bond as previously described [18]. [Pg.235]

The fragmentation pattern of deprotonated 12-HETE (12-hydroxy-5,8,10,14-eicosatetraenoic acid) contains six abundant product ions at m/z 301, 257, 207, 179, 163, and 135 (Figure 10.4e). The first two ions correspond to the loss of water and water plus carbon dioxide. The m/z 207 ion yields from the cleavage of the C12-C13 bond through formation of aldehyde at the end (Cl2 site). This ion further loses a... [Pg.235]
