Hydrogen metalloporphyrins

The chemiluminescence of the reaction of hydrogen peroxide with luminol (69) is catalyzed by metalloporphyrins 70a and 70b. This chemiluminescence is quenched by... [Pg.1074]

In 1994, Mansuy and coworkers found that a simple ammonium salt, like ammonium acetate alone, is a very efficient cocatalyst for the metalloporphyrin-catalyzed epoxidation of simple alkenes by hydrogen peroxide ". Bases like sodium carbonate, sodium acetate or tetrabutylammonium hydroxide turned out to promote the porphyrin-catalyzed epoxidation without any other additive. Adducts of hydrogen peroxide (with Na2C03, urea, MesNO, PhsPO), which turned out to be particularly useful for reactions in which the concentration of H2O2 in solution needs to be controlled at a fixed level, have been employed by Johnstone and coworkers. [Pg.445]

Epoxidation Catalyzed by Metalloporphyrins. Metalloporphyrins, which have thoroughly studied as catalysts in alkane oxygenations, have also been tested as epoxidation catalysts.119,122,244,245,307 Iodosylbenzene (PhIO), sodium hypochlorite, alkyl hydroperoxides, potassium hydrogen persulfate, and molecular oxygen are the oxygen sources used most frequently in these oxidations.119... [Pg.458]

Metalloporphyrins have been used for epoxidation and hydroxylation [5.53] and a phosphine-rhodium complex for isomerization and hydrogenation [5.54]. Cytochrome P-450 model systems are represented by a porphyrin-bridged cyclophane [5.55a], macrobicyclic transition metal cyclidenes [5.55b] or /3-cyclodextrin-linked porphyrin complexes [5.55c] that may bind substrates and perform oxygenation reactions on them. A cyclodextrin connected to a coenzyme B12 unit forms a potential enzyme-coenzyme mimic [5.56]. Recognition directed, specific DNA cleavage... [Pg.61]

Photoproduction of Hydrogen from Water Using Metalloporphyrin and Metallophthalocyanine... [Pg.487]

Hydrodemetallation pathways for Ni-etioporphyrin and Ni-tetra(3-methylphenyl)porphyrin are shown in Fig. 20. Both are characterized by a sequential hydrogenation-hydrogenolysis global mechanism, but important differences are apparent. Ware and Wei (1985a) rationalized the differences in porphyrin reactivity on the basis of porphyrin molecular structure. Structural differences on the periphery of the metalloporphyrin, in particular the substituent groups at the /3-pyrrolic and methine bridge... [Pg.160]

Certain dinuclear iron complexes are found to be efficient catalysts for the oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols with hydrogen peroxide.214 Metalloporphyrins are used as peroxidase mimics in the oxidation of phenol with hydrogen peroxide. [Pg.115]
