The nasociliary branch of the trigeminal nerve supplies the conjunctiva, cornea, iris, ciliary body, anterior choroid, and the skin of the upper lid and the tip of the nose. Herpes zoster involvement of the terminal branch of the nasociliary is indicated by cutaneous vesicles on the tip of the nose and is often referred to as Hutchinson s sign.Hheit presence of this sign increases the chances of serious ocular involvement.
